Mesothelioma Symptoms

The first symptoms of malignant pleural mesothelioma are very similar with respect to other lung diseases such as pneumonia or lung cancer. Although symptoms tend to present very gradually, and therefore can go unnoticed for a while '. Dyspnea is one of the earliest and most common symptoms of pleural mesothelioma. This gift can be considered more recent onset of shortness of breath or breathing difficulties in recent times. Shortness of breath can be caused by an accumulation of fluid(Pleural effusion) in the space surrounding the lungs. These substances cause inflammation in the pleural membrane, which fuse together and thereby prevents the formation and accumulation of more liquid.

The thickening of the pleura by the growth of cancer cells alsoreduces lung function and contributes to respiratory distress. Sometimes this thickened tissue may require surgical removal to restore some lung function. The removal process is called hulled or pleurectomy.

Malignant mesotheliomas tend to spread rapidly to other parts of the body and can spread because of their symptoms. Mesothelioma, when it spreads the chest wall and other tissues in the chest, can cause severe pain. Even before the cancerSpreads, chest pain, especially in the lower chest and side effects may be experienced. Chest pain more gradually worsen as the cancer spreads. Severe pain can be treated with strong pain relieving drugs or with radiotherapy. Mesothelioma, when it spreads to the lungs, symptoms that are normally associated with lung cancer, as we have seen, hoarseness and coughing of blood, until now.
